Pastor Brian

Brian is passionate about communicating the Message – Hope in Jesus Christ –in time and cultural relevant language to this post-modern generation. He leads Crucible to help people see their lives through the lens of faith, hope and love. Brian believes culture to be the most powerful catalyst of change, and he is shaping Crucible to be a Jesus cultured urban city church. Brian lives at the intersection of design and spirituality, and he believes the incarnational nature of the Gospel empowers the people of God to live creatively.

As part of his bi-vocational pastoral calling, Brian remains grounded in the marketplace as the principal of Flowmarq Creative (www.flowmarq.com), a boutique marketing and design communications agency in Vancouver. He consults on campaign strategies, writes copy and shoots photos. His clients include Mercedes-Benz, I4 Properties Group, Deluxe Food Group, Far East Broadcasting and Lavar Spa among others. Prior to starting Flowmarq in 2007, Brian was a senior executive in a local wireless technology hardware company where he spent eight years in technology marketing and eventually took the company public on the TSX.

Much of Brian’s of style of preaching and teaching is shaped by his applied theology concentration in his graduate studies, where his comprehensive paper focused on how the Christian context changes desires, habits and the practice of marketing.  He is a firm believer of the Church as the genius of the Holy Spirit, and churches gather in order for them to scatter.

Brian has a Master of Christian Studies (MCS) in Marketplace Theology  from Regent College. He is trained as a mechanical engineer at the University of British Columbia, and He is married to Joyce an industrial designer with Kuma the dog.
